Job Description:
Our client has a requirement for a Senior Technical Writer /Trainer for a 600 days contract opportunity. The position is located in Ottawa.

Requirement or Qualifications:
  • 5 years cumulative experience (within the last 10 years) in the development of at least four of the following:
    1. user manuals;
    2. training videos;
    3. functional guidance documents;
    4. web-based training materials;
    5. Online help materials; and web-based training approaches.
  • Minimum of 6 months (within the last 2 years) in developing user support tools, materials, and training materials addressing Treasury Board policies, directives and standards related to Information Technology, security and privacy, and its communication policy.
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience (within the last 10 years) using Microsoft Word at an expert level, including all of the following advanced skills:
    • development of templates
    • paragraph styles
    • hyperlinks
    • accessible graphics
    • protecting documents
    • inserting tables and graphs
    • creating tables of contents and tables of charts and graphs
    • linking sections
  • Demonstrate experience working with audiences that have the following characteristics:
    1. remote ( via web based/computer based training)
    2. basic level of English
    3. limited computer experience 
  • Experience in providing quality assurance support for software and tools developed by a third party and with tracking and communicating identified issues to the Project Authority The bidder should briefly describe examples of such experience in projects.
  • Experience in developing mitigation strategies to respond to changing priorities and tight timelines and to ensure timely delivery of products.
