Our client is looking for a Junior Busisiness Systems Analyst who will be working with the ERM Technology Support Team. The IT Business Analyst will lead the team’s data analysis, requirements analysis and investigations, solicit proposals, analyze responses and recommend solutions on all ERM initiatives on credit risk data aggregation and reporting.
The candidate will interact with business SMEs, consultants, business analysts and developers.

This individual would need to have intermediate to expert knowledge of data analysis using MS SQL Server with the ability to write SQL query and solid experience in data validation and data analysis via writing SQL Queries. Solid communication skills including strong documentation skills are required. Testing would be completed using SQL.

Responsibilities

• Work with business stakeholders to assess current capabilities, understand business requirements and translate and develop into Technical System Requirements Specification (SRS) documents.
• Work with the business to design effective “To-Be” processes; identify and define detailed product requirements and use cases
• Work with the Solution Developers and IT Specialists (Solution Designers, Configuration, Data Modeler, Test) to translate user and/or systems requirements into functional technical specifications
• Collaborate closely with Application Owners, Application Managers, and Solution Designers as the business/functional counterpart in solution identification and maintenance
• Support testing teams in translating requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected results for product, performance, user acceptance, and operational acceptance testing; participate in the testing of developed systems/solutions
• Adhere to existing processes/standards including the system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodology (PMLC), business technology architecture, risk and production capacity guidelines and escalate issues as required
• Monitor product lifecycles, ensuring specifications and functionality support business objectives and architecture decisions, undertaking re-development, as required
• Participate in quality management reviews, in particular reviews of the designs, prototypes and other requirements work products to ensure they fulfill the requirements
• Contribute to the development of project plans by participating in the scoping and estimating of proposed projects
• Communicate project status and provide timely escalation of issues to the Technology Project Manager (Application Manager, Demand Manager, Portfolio Manager) and ensure timely notification and escalation of possible issues/problems, options and recommendations for prompt resolution
• Act as a technical resource for business partners to ensure deliverables meet business and end-user requirements
• Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise in own area and keep current with leading-edge technologies trends/developments and develop expertise in the bank’s services, applications, infrastructure, analytical tools and techniques that can contribute to effective solution development/delivery
• Work with the Technology Project Manager and architecture organization to define metrics and performance goals for the application
• Assist in the delivery and maintenance of secure computing facilities and technical infrastructure/architecture to support stakeholders and applications as appropriate

Requirements or Qualifications

• SQL Query experience - ability to write, test and analyze and validate data
• Excel, MS SQL Server, stored procedures
• Strong documentation skills; solid communication skills
• PMLC/SDLC
• Financial Industry experience is an asset
• Visio is an asset
• Education: University Degree in Information Technology or Software Engineering is preferred  
• Driven, independent learner with a strong sense of ownership and a demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage own workload in order to deliver quality results and meet timelines
