About the Job

Our client has a requirement for Oracle DBA a 6-months contract opportunity. The positions are located in Toronto.

Role

• Coordinating changes to computer databases, test and implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems.
• Planning, coordinating and implementing security measures to safeguard the computer database.

Responsibilities

• Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications.
• Modify existing databases and database management systems.
• Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations.
• Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system.
• Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
• Knowledge of computer software, such as SQL, Oracle, etc. Major Job Duties

 

Must Have Skills

• Oracle 10 & 11 & 12 (RAC and DataGuard are not crucial)
• Shell scripting in Solaris/Linux
• MS SQL Server -Good communication skills
• Team oriente

 

Education / Experience

• Associates degree in computer programming or relevant field required.
• Bachelor degree preferred.
• Entry level to 2 years experience required.
