Job Description

Our client has a requirement for an IT Manager for a permanent opportunity. The position is located in Winnipeg, Manitoba

Requirements

• Experience in a Windows based IT environment with experience in a supervisory role.
• Working knowledge of network & server installation and maintenance including knowledge in MS Exchange, Linux, VMware, SQL
• Ability to update and enhance future network/server development.
• Working knowledge of Windows OS, VOIP, Microsoft Lync, and Microsoft Office
• LAN administration
• Maintenance of IT computer systems, printers, phones
• Monitoring internet use and requirements and recommending changes and/or upgrades
• Setting up Smart devices
• Ability to implement projects in a timely manner, e.g. software rollouts
• Ensure the continual functioning and integrity of network
• Planning, maintaining and coordinating of company wide virus, malware and network/software security protection strategies
• Maintain and ensure disaster recovery and continuity plan is always up to date.
• Preparing and reporting annual IT budget to Management
• Developing long term IT infrastructure and software plan
• Maintaining software back up procedures
• Ability to troubleshoot and provide relevant IT assistance
• Able to review, select, purchase and set up/install new hardware and software
• Negotiate new purchase agreements

Competencies

• IT Manager must be customer service driven
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Be able to identify and research new emerging IT trends; in particular in the Legal industry
• Manage a department of 3 IT staff (1 Network Administrator & 2 Help Desk Support/Trainers
• Team player
• Provide technical expertise and support to employees, including the understanding and usage of Smart Devices / Apps

Education

• Post-Secondary Education in Computer Science or other related IT discipline.
• Windows/ Microsoft qualifications
• Server Environment qualifications
