About the Job
Our client has a requirement for a Software Development Engineer for a 6 Month Contract opportunity. The position is located in Vancouver, BC.

Role
The Engineer will be responsible for working on social and casual games for a variety of platforms, such as browser, Messenger and mobile. The Engineer will utilize a number of underlying technologies including C#, Actionscript3, Flash, and Silverlight. Software design and development tasks may include GUI, rendering, pipelines, AI/gameplay, social platform integration and/or systems work. The Engineer will be required to work with a team and implement specific features according to requirements and specifications given.

Requirements or Qualifications
  • Experience with game development on multi-processor consoles is an asset
  • Experience with high-level languages like C++, C# or Java is a requirement
  • Experience with modern web APIs and services is an asset
  • Experience shipping at least one professional video game or interactive web activity
  • 1-2+ year’s current game or new media industry experience
  • Experience and interest in web-based technologies, social network ecosystems and gaming
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of solid software engineering practices
  • BSc degree or equivalent experience/education
  • Legally permitted to work in Canada
  • Self-starter who works well with a team
  • Must be able to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Must be comfortable working in many different areas
  • Dynamic problem solver
  • Experience coding video games and online experiences
  • Passion for video games
  • Ability to mentor other software engineers
