Job Description

Our client has a requirement for an Business Analyst for 6-months contract. The position is located in Calgary, Alberta.

Project Scope and Project Objectives

• Identify fixed wireless data requirements for a variety of Client business units.
• Identify Client sites that may benefit from the use of wireless data
• Deliver a technology review and assessment with recommendations for wireless technology to address fixed wireless requirements, taking into consideration: data security, reliability, bandwidth, performance requirements, and scalability.
• Identify support requirements and provide recommendations for support of wireless technology.
• Review wireless technology that Business Units are currently using relation to corporate technology requirements.
• Provide guidance for a pilot project to evaluate candidate wireless technology.
• Provide a budgetary estimate for the implementation of fixed wireless infrastructure.

 

Deliverables

• Deliver a Wireless Strategy document that includes: requirements, sites, technology assessment, budget and implementation plan

 

Required Skills

• 10 years of proven experience with IP data network design.
• 5 years of proven experience with a variety of wireless network technologies
• 5 years of proven experience working with client, end-users in order to understand application requirements and design networks to meet these requirements.
• 3 years of experience with wireless path analysis calculations and software tools.
• 5 years of experience with network implementation cost estimates and budgets.
• 3 years of experience developing and implementing technology maintenance and support plans.

 
Desired Skills

• Previous work experience with Municipal, other Government Organizations or equivalent endeavours.
• Previous experience with Carrier Class Network (CCN) and/or Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) technology.
