About the Job
Our client has a requirement for an Intermediate Project Manager for an 8 Month Contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto, ON.

Role
Our client is looking for a midlevel Project Manager with IT PM experience in a large organizations and infrastructure projects (server upgrades and operating system upgrades).
 
Responsibilities
  • Manage day to day project activities of medium complexity or units/phases of a larger complex project
  • Plan, execute, control and close out project against defined scope and budget.
  • Utilize accepted standards and procedures.
  • Maintain team relationships and team coaching and development.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Manage risk and ensure compliance.
  • Oversight and execution of several medium complexity projects.
  • Works autonomously in the management of the unit and collaborates with other business heads to establish and execute on common goals.
  • Manages activities of medium complexity projects.
  • Ensures delivery of projects to the business partner, meeting the approved scope/cost/schedule/quality for the project.
  • Perform a governing role for, ensuring that the proposal, execution, control, deployment, training and hand off, warranty support, and closure to meet schedules.
  • Strong involvement in business IMO.
  • Management of small to large projects (ranging in size from $400K to $3M), including multiple internal applications and external vendors.
  • Estimation and planning, risk assessment, contingency planning, tracking and management of progress, issues, budget, risk and resources.
 
Requirements or Qualifications
  • 5+ years IT PM experience - particularly server upgrades and operating system upgrades
  • 5+ years SDLC/PMLC within financial industry environment along with full life cycle development experience and experience with proven project methodology tools
  • Infrastructure types of projects - relevant to server upgrades and OS upgrades
  • High level Communication and Presentation skills
  • Proven leadership skills and experience managing IT projects
  • MS Project, Excel experience
  • Financial/Banking experience
  • PMP
