About the Job
Our client has a requirement for Business System Analyst for a 6 months contract opportunity. The positions are located in Toronto.

Role
We require a senior level BSA to work on a number of large initiatives within the DCTS team.
Direct Channel Technology Solutions helps our business partners evolve, innovate, and deliver for the direct channels which include Online, Mobile, ATM, and Phone with a North American mandate. Our Mobile channel is comprised of a group of dedicated IT professionals that are constantly working to improve the mobile experience for our customers and help us be a leader in the mobile channel.
 
Responsibilities
  • Work with business partners to understand and analyze their project business requirements and processes.
  • Collaborate with developers and Solutions Architects to establish the technical vision while demonstrating an understanding of the business needs/requirements and being able to translate them into system/application and operational requirements.
  • Document system requirement specification (SRS) in a clear and concise fashion to ensure requirements can be understood and meet the needs of key requirements stakeholders – Business, Developers/Designers and Quality Assurance.
  • Ensure that SRSs are agreed to and approved according to SDLC governance guidelines.
  • Actively manage the approval and review process for SRS documentation and escalating/raising risk awareness when approvals are delayed or not received.
  • Act as a central point of contact for requirements through the life of the project.
  • Provide support and consulting to business and technology project members to ensure requirements are properly considered through all phases, from analysis, design and testing through to implementation planning and roll out.
  • Demonstrate ownership of requirements throughout the life of the project. In partnership with the business, uniquely identify all requirements and ensure ongoing change control and traceability matrix tools are in place to track where requirements are derived from, how they are satisfied, how they are tested, and what impact will result if they are changed.
  • Work with Project Manager to ensure all additions/modifications to scope and requirements follow standard change control practice (ie. PCR).

Requirements and Qualifications
  • 6+ years BSA experience
  • 4+ years in an IT environment
  • Strong proven experience authoring SRS documents
  • Strong experience working in large environments
  • Previous experience with front-end applications such as Web or Mobile projects is considered an asset.
  • Post secondary degree/diploma in Information Technology Systems or Business or equivalent work experience.
  • The ability to communicate complex technical problems and solutions in clear, simple language which can be understood by both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and changing priorities
  • Demonstrated experience from a systems requirements perspective in the delivery of large, complex, multi-business unit projects
  • Familiarity with project management and change control principles
  • Able to perform complex work and analysis requiring a broad level of technical acumen
  • Demonstrated expertise in a variety of requirements and analysis methods including interviewing, data modeling, business process modeling, business object modeling and use case methodology
  • Superior presentation skills
  • Thorough understanding of PMLC and SDLC processes.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with both mainframe, and distributed technologies
