About the Job
Our client has a requirement for a Business Analyst for a 4 month contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto.

Requirements:
As part of enhancing and replacing existing systems within the Quality Assurance Department, the Business Analyst's primary responsibilities are to work with business users to understand, analyze, and solve business problems using the project lifecycle from strategic definition and proposal through requirements gathering, analysis, and scoping. The Business Analyst's duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following. Develop business requirement specifications and external design documents to existing Lab/Quality Assurance systems. These projects include developing web solutions, a centralized database, reporting, interfaces, and security controls to replace/enhance the existing applications.  Liaises with business staff and the IT team to develop the required documentation as dictated by the client current SDLC and Project Management methodologies
  • Researches, analyzes and defines opportunities for business process improvement
  • Participates in business process re-engineering efforts with customers by streamlining and/or automating complex processes
  • Defines customers' requirements and participates in investigative, feasibility and highly complex analytical studies for solutions to business needs
  • Understands and executes the overall business objectives, processes and established methodologies
  • Acts as a recognized business analysis expert with respect to industry leading' practices and  specialized business knowledge and expertise and provides advice and consults to the Quality Assurance Department as well as to other business areas as required

Job Description:
 
Our client has a requirement for a Network Management Operations System Operator for a 36 month contract opportunity.  The position is located in Calgary, Alberta.   The successful candidate will be responsible for providing Tier 1 Network Management and Administration support in a 24 hour Network Operations Centre.

This position is shift work.  Each shift is 12.5 hours in duration (variable rotation over a 12 week period with an average of 40 hours per week).  Routing and Switching is the focus with some Firewall and network appliances.

Role:
In support of the ongoing sustainment and service management operation, the Client requires an IT Contract Manager & Outsourcing Advisor to manage and govern the IT asset contract administration, life-cycle management and ongoing outsourcing governance. Accountabilities include:

General Accountabilities:
  • Manage complex information technology (IT) centered projects over the full project life-cycle.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and technical expertise in the management of contract negotiations and outsourcing governance.
  • Monitoring of activities and achievements
  • Maintenance of schedules and monitoring of costs and Sustainment budgets.
Specific Accountabilities:
  • Provide governance oversight in third-party vendor IT contract maintenance – ensuring availability of hardware and software service levels with vendors while aligning to business needs.
  • Provide governance oversight to manage IT outsource service provider in the administration of IT hardware and software contracts.
  • Effect financial arrangements - ensuring cost savings realization.
  • Participate and provide subject matter inputs to the stipulation of contract requirement pertaining to IT hardware and software/applications.
  • Facilitate transition of new contracts (from projects) - ensuring sustainability of new IT vendor/contract relationship.
  • Ensure compliance to IT contract stipulations, while adhering to procurement policies.
  • Manage financial performance on IT contract portfolio, including budgeting, management analysis, and reporting.
  • Conduct financial administration, including invoice approvals and monthly reconciliation/accruals.
  • Monitor and review performance of service providers with respect to service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Analyze service data and metrics to ensure its legitimacy and relevancy
  • Evaluate the service level methodology and service metrics for improvement opportunities
  • Provide recommendation to integrate SLAs with the operational level agreements (OLAs) and underpinning contracts as appropriate
  • Establish and provide internal management report reflecting the performance of service providers
  • Participate in the governance oversight of ITIL based service management practices such as incident, change, configuration, release and problem management
  • Monitor and reconcile the usage of resource units and related invoicing as part of the outsource service contracts such as servers, desktops, laptops, database, storage, and other key data center entities, etc
  • Monitor the financial performance, perform financial analysis, and provide regular forecast pertaining to the outsource service contract
  • Participate in the planning and prioritization of service directives and the change order process
  • Collaborate with other IT stakeholders (e.g. IT Architecture, IT Security, Technology Services, Business Architecture, Contract Services, Procurement, etc) in the provisioning of IT business solutions
  • Work with other 3rd party vendors in the evaluation of technology solution options
  • Identify opportunities and implement recommendations to improve contract management processes.
Requirement or Qualifications:
The candidates are expected to have demonstrated capability in the following areas:
  • Successful candidate is preferred to have BA or BSc in Computer Science, Engineering.
  • Desired 12 years' experience managing IT projects, either in Business or IT Infrastructure domains.
  • Candidate would be successful if they demonstrated the ability to apply their technical knowledge and experience to facilitate management decisions for achieving business objectives.

Taking direction from the SOA QA Lead, the incumbent performs testing, including SOA testing, logs defects and tests fixes for the clients applications. The incumbent writes test cases and scripts based on business requirements, functional and technical specifications.

Requirement or Qualifications:
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Identify and detail test conditions from design documents and service contracts
  • Document and implement a SOA automation framework using the SDM SOA Tool that can be maintained through subsequent releases. Familiarity with SOAP UI is essential, experience with iTKO Lisa and Parasoft SOA Test an asset.
  • Automate existing test scenarios within SOA Tool outlined above,  scripting and where possible integrate with the Quality Centre tool
  • Perform Software Testing in support of schedule objectives
  • Develop test cases based on business requirements, functional and technical specifications.
  • Build SQL queries to validate data
  • Maintain existing test cases and scripts based on code changes and enhancements to assigned applications
  • Perform Regression Test Planning and Execution
  • Create and send issue reports

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Identify and detail test conditions from design documents and service contracts
  • Document and implement a SOA automation framework using the SDM SOA Tool that can be maintained through subsequent releases. Familiarity with SOAP UI is essential, experience with iTKO Lisa and Parasoft SOA Test an asset.
  • Automate existing test scenarios within SOA Tool outlined above,  scripting and where possible integrate with the Quality Centre tool
  • Perform Software Testing in support of schedule objectives
  • Develop test cases based on business requirements, functional and technical specifications.
  • Build SQL queries to validate data
  • Maintain existing test cases and scripts based on code changes and enhancements to assigned applications

About the Job
Our client has a requirement for a WebSphere Portal for 6 month contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto.

Requirements:

Working as a member of the Business Portal project team, the Websphere Portal Developer will assist in extending the client Portal platform as well as any associated portlets. The Developer will be responsible for writing Java code for the purposes of building the Portal. They will also be responsible for integrating to back end systems. Portal Development experience is a must, experience with webMethods and OpenText Web Experience Management is a desirable.  You will be responsible for design and development of the clients Portal Platform, with a focused
delivery on the development of reusable components for other projects.
You will be responsible for custom portlet creation i.e. forms portlet, alert portlet, booking/scheduling portlet. You will be responsible for portal integration to backend systems via Enterprise Service Bus layer, participating and contributing in technical code reviews and documentation and responsible for Unit test cases, integration test cases and expected results.

Qualified Candidates will have:
  • 5 years in a portal environment as portal developer, specifically Websphere Portal.
  • Worked on a project that developed re-usable portal components.
  • Worked on a project that implemented portal as part of a Services Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Implemented portal/portlet’s in at least 2-3 Portal projects end to end.
  • Worked on portlet wiring, WCM portlets, JSF in any of the projects, virtual portal, portal security, remote portlet integration, themes & skins.
  • Desired candidate will have experience in developing a portal platform geared towards external service delivery.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, and the ability to work in a team environment and work collaboratively with others.
  • 5+ years experience with a background in architecture/development of portlets in Websphere Portal in a medium to large-scale environment.
  • 5+ years of developing in the following: Java 1.4 (and above), J2EE, JSR168, JSR286, JSF Portlets.
