Job Description
Our client has a requirement for a Senior Business Systems Analyst for a 6 month contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto.

Role
The primary responsibility of this position will be providing support for the HR Transformation program. There are several work streams involved with this program adding several new components to our existing HCM offering such as Self Serve, Compensation, Executive Comp, Org Design, Global Mobility, Absence Mgmt, Position Mgmt, onboarding several new businesses onto the HCM platform, reviewing the current platform to create a consistent offering, research and define a new state of the art HR call center solution and redefine a new and improved HR portal solution for all employees.
 
 
Responsibilities Include:
  • Work with business stakeholders and other SMEs to assess current capabilities, understand detail business requirements and apply technical background/understanding in the development of System Requirements Specification (SRS) documents
  • Work with the business to design effective “To-Be” requirements; identify and define detailed product requirements and use cases
  • Work with the IT Specialists (Solution Designers, Testers) to translate user and/or systems requirements into functional technical specifications
  • Collaborate closely with Application Owners, Application Managers, and Solution Designers as the business/functional counterpart in solution identification
  • Support testing teams in translating requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected results for product, performance, user acceptance, and operational acceptance testing; participate in the testing of developed systems/solutions
  • Adhere to existing processes/standards including the system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodology (PMLC), business technology architecture, risk and production capacity guidelines and escalate issues as required
  • Monitor product lifecycles, ensuring specifications and functionality support business objectives and architecture decisions, undertaking re-development, as required
  • Participate in quality management reviews, in particular reviews of the designs, prototypes and other requirements work products to ensure they fulfill the requirements
  • Contribute to the development of project plans by participating in the scoping and estimating of proposed projects
  • Communicate project status and provide timely escalation of issues to the Technology Project Manager and ensure timely notification and escalation of possible issues/problems, options and recommendations for prompt resolution
  • Act as a technical resource for business partners to ensure deliverables meet business and end-user requirements.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise in HCM area and keep current with leading-edge technologies trends/developments and develop expertise in client services, applications, infrastructure, analytical tools and techniques that can contribute to effective solution development/delivery
  • Work with the Technology Project Manager and architecture organization to define metrics and performance goals for the application
  • Assist in the delivery and maintenance of secure computing facilities and technical infrastructure/architecture to support stakeholders and applications as appropriate
  • Support the development of business cases, RFI and service level agreements with vendors/suppliers consistent with IT requirements/guidelines

 
Requirements:
  • Expert knowledge of business analysis principles
  • Solid to advanced understanding of businesses supported and major components that make up a typical HCM platform
  • Demonstrated aptitude with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point and MS Share Point
  • Solid BSA experience with testing experience
  • Expert knowledge of business analysis principles

Nice to Have:
  • Experience with PeopleSoft 9.1 or 9.2 is an asset
  • Financial Industry / Banking experience

Soft skills:
  • Works independently in the lead business analyst role
  • Subject matter expert and consults with clients and/or project teams
  • Involved in all aspects of the business analysis process and may provide guidance and direction to other Business Analysts
  • Acts as a key resource for the project team and the business, assuming lead TS Business Analyst role within projects
  • Leads the development of detailed/ complex and/or comprehensive project plans and/or large projects
  • Supports Relationship and/or IT Managers by providing expert analysis and assessment of potential projects
  • Leads resolution of client applications issues
