About the Job

Our client has a requirement for MS SQL Database Analyst for a 6 month contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto, ON.

Role

We are seeking a MS SQL Database analyst to file a key technical role within the Barrie Data Center Migration Program. The successful candidate will report directly to the Program Executives.

The candidate must have a proven track record leveraging SQL Database technology in enterprise environment. The position requires a self-starter, with critical thinking qualities.

 

Responsbilities

• Gather business requirements and create detailed technical documentation
• Be responsible for creating custom and edit existing SQL code/scripts
• Provide design and migration approach
• Assist in migrating applications as requested
• Work closely with technical and non-technical personnel
• Work with the minimum supervision

Qualifications:

• At least 7-10 years of DB analyst experience
• Working knowledge in creating reports and converting them to Excel Pivots and charts
• Advanced SQL Script writing experience
• Extensive knowledge and hands on experience in writing complex JOIN queries working with the big number of tables
• Practical knowledge of dumping and restoring databases
• Overall experience with Microsoft SQL DB 2005/2008
• Strong communication skills

Specific Educational Requirements/Accreditations:

• College / University or equivalent work experience
• MS SQL Certfication considered an asset

 

Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

• Knowledge of Financial Services or Insurance Sector would be an asset
• The Barrie Data Center program requires a specialized set of skills and resources to be on-boarded to the Migration program.
• The skills are niche/boutique in nature with both subject matter experience and expertise.
• The resources must have prior large data center application migration experience.
