Job Description

Our client has a requirement for an Infrastructure Support Analyst for 12 months contract. The position is located in Toronto, Ontario.

Responsibilities

• Provide EMIT Area Operations and facilities support in Toronto Area that includes both server and network infrastructure.
• Provide support for Retail Tandem System
• As a member of a distributed national support team with primary coverage for Toronto Area, provide L1 support for Intel Server, SAN, and Midrange servers
• Provide L1 support for various network system, including Retail network, WAN/LAN, VOICE/VOIP system.
• Working knowledge of network devices including Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, etc,.
• Interacting with national and global groups to provide Level one network hardware support, including local hands and eyes.
• Work with various site contacts/business as focal point contact
• Support business in an Enterprise environment, with distributed locations, dealing with items remotely.
• Liaise with peers and clients in project work
• Role will require responding to server, SAN, midrange network related problem tickets, perform server installations swaps, upgrades and decommissioning. Perform changes according to change management practices. Liaise with peers and clients in project work

Qualifications

• Microsoft NT/W2KW2003 server support, Symantec Antivirus, SAN troubleshooting, Active Directory, Veritas Backupexec/Netbackup and MS Terminal server. Server/backup hardware (Dell) troubleshooting skills, hardware monitoring tools (Dell ITAssist / HP Openview)
• Server operations experience in distributed LAN skills/environment
• Network operations with sound knowledge in LAN/WAN/Voice technologies
• Network infrastructure experience in LAN/WAN, router and switches experience
• Unix / Linux experience, Microsoft Operating system (i.e. Windows OS), Storage Area Network (SAN) expertise, SCCM/SMS, Symantec Antivirus, remote support, Backup Management (Veritas BackupExec/Netbackup), Terminal server
• Familiarity with Dell server hardware / troubleshooting skills/hardware monitoring tools,
• Analyze and interpret technical data for problem determination and resolution, Problem and Change management experience
• BMC/Remedy ITSM system experience
• Tape Management/Offsite Storage Procedures, Data Center operations
• Well versed in Microsoft tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Familiarity with MS Suite including SharePoint/portal development would be an asset
• Strong inter-personal, listening, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment to accomplish organizational goals
• Demonstrate sound analytical and problem-solving skills
• Highly motivated individual able to work with minimum supervision
