About the Job
Our client has a requirement for an Intermediate Project Manager for a 1 Year Contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto, ON.

Role
One of client is looking for an Intermediate Project Manager to manage 2 data acquisition projects/work streams. This role will have a large focus around data governance, quality and acquisition.

Requirements or Qualifications
  • 5+years of project management experience
  • Experience leading/managing a data acquisition project
  • Experience with Data Warehousing environments
  • Experience managing large projects within Financial Institutions
  • Previous Financial Industry experience is required; previous Banking experience is preferred
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team
  • Ability to work in a high stress, fast paced environment
  • Experience leading large 1+ year projects or multiple small initiatives
  • Must have managed budgets of $2-3+ million
  • Experience managing vendors
  • Experience managing combination of internal contract and GR resources as part of a delivery team; Project work will be based out of the US but primary location will be Toronto – will have to lead global teams including off-shore global resources, third party vendors, project teams in the US
  • Excellent communication
  • Ability to work on their own and not need to be led in terms of knowledge; understand processes and procedures and come up to speed and speak the language of the PMO right away
  • Very strong interpersonal skills
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop project plans, manage individual deadlines and goals.
  • Knowledge of project metrics, including gathering, reporting, trend analysis, creation, and metrics.
  • Advanced understanding of the SDLC and PMLC, artifacts as deliverables, Waterfall process, etc.
  • Ability to identify issues and problems, generate solutions and choose appropriate alternatives using basic root cause analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency with all MS Office applications, MS Project and/or Visio.
  • Highly organized with good time management skills.
  • Customer service orientation and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical thinker with creative problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • PMP is desired, not required
