Job Description
Our client has a requirement for a GIS Intermediate Developer for 6 months Contract. The position is located in Calgary, Alberta

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Development: C#, ASP .Net, Web-development, Oracle/SQL database (4–10 years).
  • Other technologies: jQuery, HTML5, UI development (2-4 years).
  • Tools: Team Foundation Server (TFS), Visual Studio 2010/2008/2005 (4–10 years).
  • Design: System architecture and design (2-4 years).
  • Proven experience of successful communication within teams and clients (4–10 years).
  • Proven experience of producing quality documentation (4–10 years).
  • GIS Experience: Esri ArcGIS
  • Telerik web-controls, C# web-services development, Web API experience
  • Previous experience of implementing projects using Agile or Traditional Methodology
  • Previous work experience with Municipal, other Government Organizations or equivalent endeavors

Responsibilities
The Consultant will work under direction of The IT Project Manager and will complete the following tasks using Agile/Traditional methodologies:
  • Design: Based on the recommended solution, the resource(s) will assist team in the design phase of Park Online project. The main design consideration will be reusability, scalability, robustness of the solution.
  • Development: Mainly application development for User Interface (UI), Business Logic (BL) and Data Access (DA) layers. The primary responsibility of the resource(s) will be to complete the development tasks for Park Online Project in the assigned timelines and budget. The deliverables should be as per QA and quality standards.
  • Testing: Complete Unit Testing, Functional Testing and Integration Testing of the delivered components.
  • Status Updates: Report the project status to The IT Project manager / Technical lead.Presentations may be required for Team and/or other stakeholders.
 
 Deliverables
  • Design Document: Ensure design documents are completed as per the direction and the specifications of the IT Project manager / Technical lead.
  • Developed Solution and User Acceptance Testing: Ensure solution is developed as per the requirements, QA and Quality standards and Business Units sign-off the User Acceptance phase.
  • Documentation: Creation of documentation as per the direction and specifications of the IT Project manager / Technical lead.
