Our client has a requirement for Sr. Project Manager for a 7 months contract opportunity. The positions are located in Calgary, Alberta


Job Description

Scope of work / responsibilities:

This Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of successful project delivery for application projects within our Corporate environment. Primarily this role will focus on HR systems, but may expand to other finance, tax or legal systems.

As the project manager, you will be responsible for overall successful delivery of the project and will be required to take the defined projects through the Execution and Transition phases. Throughout the project, Client processes will be followed including:
• Solicit and manage a vendor partner.
• Manage an application development team and environment.
• Produce monthly project status reports
• Identify and protect integration points with other applications, IS departments and business areas.


Technical Skills / Business Knowledge needed:

Project Management. PM experience with application enhancement and system integration projects.
Proven communication and coordination skills across all levels of the organization
Vendor management
Leadership skills
Corporate Systems (application projects)


Other:

The projects assigned to this project manager may cross over multiple business portfolios.
Dependent on project workload in the PMO, this position may be extended.
Initially, the project work with focus on SAP HCM module. SAP is not a required skill, but the ability to learn a new area quickly will be. Engagement of an SAP vendor will be the first focus of this role.


Performance Expectations:


Manage projects to time and budget and to a high level of customer satisfaction. Plan and execute Client approvals and checklists when considered appropriate by the PMO. Unless otherwise requested, the PM will follow current PMI standards and guidelines. The successful candidate will also need to work closely with Supply Chain Management, and follow internal processes for engaging an external vendor.
