Our client has a requirement for Datastage Developer x 2 roles  for a 6 months contract opportunity.  The positions are located in Toronto 

 
Efficiently and effectively develop and code complex ETL applications and data warehouse solutions that will perform optimally within a large production environment and are easy to sustain.
 
The ETL and data warehouse solution code will meet business requirements; follow appropriate standards; meet SLA's and support processes will be documented.
 
Provide technical guidance to ETL project members and junior members of the ETL development team.

Application detailed design, development, testing and documentation for client group applications

 Participation on project activities and progress reporting to development lead and functional manager
  
Active project engagement
Insights on progress made and estimated future effort
  
Technical mentorship to ETL developer team members
  
Coaching and mentoring junior members
 
Project effort estimation.  Must be able to provide accurate estimates for project effort.
  
Accurate effort/cost estimates.
 
Provide 3rd level support to applications support team for incident and problem resolution
 
Expedited incident/problem resolution - satisfied client

Specific technical and professional knowledge and skills required:
 
¨       Recognized University Degree or College Diploma
¨       10+ years I.T. experience in progressive analysis and design related positions
¨       5+ years of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence implementation experience
¨       5+ years Experience in providing all round expertise in the execution of Data Warehouse projects.
¨       Expert level experience in Data Stage development
¨       Expert level in programming using C++ and UNIX
¨       Experience and skills in all Data Warehouse lifecycle areas
- requirement analysis, design, development, etc. is necessary.
¨       Experience in leading-edge techniques applicable to Data Warehouse architecture, system environments and warehouse planning
¨       Experience in interacting with domain experts to understand external business factors and design new strategies on how they can be addressed by applying data warehouse architecture techniques
¨       Demonstrate proficiency in understanding Unix, DB2, and SQL system environments, and database design, Install, configure, manage DataStage software on Unix systems,
¨       Experience with development in a ProfileStage, and QualityStage environments would be an asset.
¨       Knowledge of Oracle and DB2 databases is an asset.
¨       Very good verbal and written communications skills.
¨       Experience in mentoring and coaching team members.
