The Role

Objectives of the Role

The ETL Test Analyst – will support the Information and Shared Services department within the Information Technology corporate head office. This position will be responsible for the creation and execution of test cases based on business requirements to ensure quality delivery of software. The individual partners across IT and assigned business lines to test new or existing software in order to ensure requirements are met. The ETL Test Analyst will work closely with Project BAs, the ETL Developers, the QA team and the production support teams.


Specific Accountabilities/KPI’s

Strategic

•Analyze project or requirement documents to identify test requirements
•Develop the Test Case documents according to the Master Test Plan
•Walkthrough the QA Test Cases and the QA Test Plan with the QA Team prior to execution
•Execute test cases
•Coordinate/Document actual test results and responsible for the end-to-end tracking of all issues found
•Walkthrough the QA Test Results with the QA Team and communicate status to Project leaders
•Assist in defect investigation and escalation
•Provide backup to other QA testing projects as required
•Provide the QA automation team with application functionality workflow
•Use defined/new methodologies and software to test new technologies/system functionality of simple to high complexity to ensure business acceptance, user acceptance and system integration
•Collaborates with other areas within IT to identify and improve testing tools and approaches
•Use software tools for defect management

Candidate Profile

•Demonstrated excellence in Database / ETL testing in a complex multi TB Data warehousing environment.
•Testing approaches methodologies
•Test case documentation and execution
•Teradata concepts and architecture
•Autosys
•UNIX Korn Shell Scripts, AWK
•Teradata load utilities: BTEQ, Multiload, Fastload, Tpump
•Business Objects Data Services ETL Tools background


Preferred Skills

•Full development lifecycle experience: requirements, design, build, test, deploy
•Broad technical experience across OS (Window, UNIX), Teradata Database, application server (J2EE, .NET) and other technologies (MQSeries, JMS etc.)
•Ability to map business requirements to technology capability.
•Attention to detail to review project deliverables for completeness, quality, and compliance with established project standards.
•Good understanding of normalized and dimensional data models
