Job Description

Our client has a requirement for a Senior Business Consultant for a 6 month contract opportunity. The position is located downtown.


Define and maintain business rules for verifying the successful exchange of

information between stakeholders

Provide knowledge transfer for conformance testing and associated data updates.

Ensure that business processes for stakeholder management are in compliance with privacy, security and health legislation.


Technical Skills and Requirements:

• Detailed knowledge of laboratory services including the flow of information using HL7 messages.

• In-depth knowledge and experience in development and deployment of high impact systems that process sensitive health information.

• Excellent knowledge and experience with secure methods and processes for managing access sensitive information within large-scale, high-performance, realtime systems.

• Experience with the definition and design of systems used by end-users for managing access privileges.

• Experience with the development and maintenance of testing scenarios, strategies, plans and data.

• Experience with current methodologies and tools used for systems development and maintenance.

• Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office, as well as tools used for systems definition and modeling such as Rational Rose.

2.1 Description of Deliverables
a) Senior Business Consultant, Data interfaces

1) Deliverables

Deliverables:
• Define and maintain business rules for verifying the successful exchange of laboratory information between stakeholders (new adopters) and the OLIS system.
• Provide knowledge transfer for conformance testing and associated data updates.
• Collaborate with the OLIS system delivery agent and eHealth Ontario to refine and align processes for enrolling stakeholders for access to OLIS.
• Ensure that business processes for stakeholder management are in compliance with privacy, security and health legislation.
• Analyze problems reported by OLIS clients and new adopters to define workable solutions, and document requirements for potential changes or enhancements to OLIS in alignment with eHealth Ontario, as applicable.
• Participate in the development of deployment strategies to hospitals, laboratories, practitioners and regional authorities and collaborate on the integration of OLIS with other eHealth Ontario initiatives.
• Maintain business scenarios, test scripts and data to be used for conformance testing based on the evolution of OLIS.
• Collaborate with Canada Health Infoway for the development of new standards for laboratory terminologies used by OLIS stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships and communications internally and with external stakeholders and service delivery partners for the integration of OLIS into their business processes and information systems.
• Provide subject matter expertise related to laboratory clinical systems, as required.

2) eHealth related experience (or equivalent)

eHealth related experience (or equivalent):
• In-depth knowledge and experience associated with business processes within laboratories and hospitals for collecting and managing test and result information.
• Excellent knowledge of technologies used by community and hospital laboratories for managing laboratory test information.

3) Technical skills and requirements

• Experience with current methodologies and tools used for systems development and maintenance.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office,
