Project Coordinator

DESCRIPTION


Working in the retail IT division, you will be part of the Project Management delivery team responsible for coordinating and delivering business capabilities to our supply chain business partners. As a Project Coordinator, accountable to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for directing project staff and tracking project deliverables and costs throughout the project delivery lifecycle, ensuring that clear accountability and realistic deadlines are assigned to all project tasks, and that the project is cost-effectively achieving all project delivery milestones.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Work with the business and IT to scope, size and articulate project concepts into clear project objectives

- Develop project plans at a task, milestone, and resource level

- Adhere to a structured, project management methodology

- Assess, plan and engage project resources as needed throughout the life of the project

- Work in partnership with Functional Managers within IT to obtain the necessary skill sets and resources.

- Track and manage established plans to ensure all deliverables and milestones are met

- Manage project scope on an ongoing basis using documented change management techniques

- Manage, motivate and lead project team

- Manager delivery of project tasks and deliverables according to time and cost parameters

- Prepare project budgets, track project spend against budget noting exceptions and action plans

- Prepare all project and status reporting in a timely and accurate fashion

- Prepare and deliver presentations as appropriate

- Engage team on an ongoing basis to identify project issues, project risks, action plans and implications, and manage those activities

- Demonstrate strong, concise communication skills (both written and verbal)

- Proactive in taking the initiative and the lead for identifying and resolving issues

- Maintain and encourage open lines of communication between groups / functional areas / team members

- Actively manage multiple projects (projects may be in different phases)

- Provide feedback and coaching to project team members

- Other duties as required


QUALIFICATIONS

- University Degree or equivalent

- Minimum of 2 years experience managing small to medium projects using a disciplined approach to project management.

- Key core PM competencies: scope management, cost and risk management, timely decision making, effective team building, ability to prioritize, delegate appropriately and deal with changing priorities

- Demonstrated ability to establish and deliver resource based project plans

- Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects at the same time

- Experience in System Development Lifecycle and Project Management methodologies; understanding of inherent value of such and the ability to apply them in a flexible manner in various situations

- Experience in creating project cost benefit analyses, presenting project budgets, assumptions; ability to attend to management queries related to project budget

- Excellent people management skills; experience working with and managing teams in a matrix environment

- Ability to scale thinking and analysis from detail to strategic

- Very strong customer delivery focus

- Very strong interpersonal skills

- Very strong organizational skills

- Very strong negotiation skills

- Very strong Microsoft Project skills

- Project Management designation an asset
