Job Description:
Our client has a requirement for a Windows 7 Imaging and Deployment Specialist for a 6 month contract opportunity. The position is located in Indianapolis (Kokomo), IN.

Role:
We are currently looking for a strong Lead Windows 7 Imaging and Deployment specialist with SCCM and MDT skills. This is for a 6 month+ consulting engagement north of Indianapolis, IN that will involve working with multiple customers. The right candidate will have requirements gathering experience and be able to develop new images from scratch using Microsoft tools (MDT - Microsoft Deployment Toolkit and SCCM – Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager). Any candidate must have demonstrated multiple instances of imaging for different projects on their resume. The manager will ask the candidates to walk through building a new image and how to use the tool (SCCM or MDT) to create the new image.
 
Overall skills and responsibilities include:
  • This position requires strong expertise in Windows 7 Deployment processes, Image Development and deployment with MDT and SCCM OSD, design and administration of Microsoft SCCM (all versions) in a large enterprise, and SCCM based reporting.
  • The role is not tied to just one specific client and is designated as a Multi-Client role so excellent customer service skills and strong communication ability is important.
  • The candidate will be called on to provide top level support to existing customers on an as-needed basis, to transition new outsourcing clients to these services, and to provide consulting advisory and technical delivery services for special projects related to these services.
Additional requirements for this lead role:
  • Will work with the customer to build, support, and update the base images from specifications provided. Will provide support for one core image for Windows XP operating system and one core image for the Windows 7 operating system. Each core image will contain the base operating system files, defined configurations, and base desktop software applications.
  • Will provide image managements services leveraging its remote Centers of Excellence and on site Supplier Architects for end user testing and customer communications.
  • Provide technical assistance for defining core image specifications for desktops
  • Provide image management for two base software images for desktop and laptop - one for Windows XP and one for Windows 7
  • Test the Base Images, and identify any changes to the images using the Change management process to document the recommended change based on recommended industry standards.)
  • Provide image load for new desktop hardware devices (Desktops)
  • Provide image load on existing desktop hardware devices as required to restore to full End User functionality
  • Develop scripts and macro programs to automate standard image support processes as appropriate (e.g., upgrading desktop images)
  • Develop, implement, and maintain macro programs for customer standard distributed computing applications
  • Provide SCCM deployment, administration, access, and configuration functions to maintain compliance with core software deployment/management policies and procedures.
  • Develop schedules to support software deployment, release upgrades, deploy patches, and other desktop projects.
  • Create an out of box dashboard available from the SCCM console to create various reports measuring desktop device compliance for software distributions, patches, and antivirus updates.
  • Create compliance reports for Windows XP and Windows 7 operating systems.
  • Create a tracking process for devices by electronically scanning customer network at a mutually agreed upon frequency and maintain an inventory list of all supported desktop hardware.
  • Manage deployment efforts using customer project management tools, methodologies and ITIL standards (e.g. ITIL Change and Configuration Management practices).
This 6 month engagement has a high probability of being extended and possibly becoming a direct hire, perm position. Work will be done approximately 60 miles north of Indianapolis.
