About the Job
Our client has a requirement for Intermediate-Senior Business Analyst / Project Manager for a 12 month Contract opportunity. The positions are located in Calgary, AB.

Requirements
  • Liaise with various stakeholders, within and outside the department, to understand the current business challenges relating to the following business functions: Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Accounts Payable, Maintenance, Cost/Project Planning and Management.
  • Provide BA services (following BA best practices) in various discovery initiatives including business case development:
    • Identification of business “pain points” and opportunities for process improvements
    • Articulation of business requirements
    • Generation of solution alternatives
    • Cost/benefit analysis of solution alternatives
    • Development of decision-making instruments – decision summaries, project proposals
  • Provide PM services in various approved discovery or implementation initiatives (following PM best practices):
    • Facilitative leadership in solution implementations
    • Transition to operations
  • Develop and evolve department metrics, aligned with defined key performance areas – this includes but is not limited to:
    • The definition and execution of associated capture mechanisms
    • The development of various analytic tools
    • Publication for purposes of management reporting
  • Document key processes in support of department service offerings
  • Lead various governance-related functions:
    • Compliance-related efforts of the department – includes SOX, Code of Conduct, and various audits
    • Alignment of key department processes
  • Manage the evolution and maintenance of the department’s website
  • Liaise with other service groups (IS, Corporate Compliance, IS Governance, Corporate Communications, Audit, etc.) and address commitments made with these groups
  • Other special assignments as defined by the Manager
 
Qualifications
  • Musts – Exceptional planning, analytical (strong attention to detail), and facilitative leadership skills; can work in an environment of ambiguity
  • Excellent BA skills – demonstrated ability to:
    • Identify requirements, gaps
    • Generate and assess alternative solutions
    • Provide recommendations
    • Package proposals or various decision instruments
    • Document/analyze process and data models
    • Define test strategies/plans/scenarios and guide the generation of test scripts
  • Strong PM skills – planning (WBS, scheduling, resource management) through to execution, risk management, lessons learned application
  • Some knowledge of Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Accounts Payable, Maintenance, Cost/Project Planning and Management
  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills with ability to handle a varied / demanding workload
  • Strong MS Office Skills – Excel (advanced), MS Access (intermediate), MS Project (intermediate), Visio (intermediate), PowerPoint (intermediate)
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills - can communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management
  • Works extremely well with others in a team (and/or matrix) environment
  • Excellent judgment in dealing with confidential information / materials
