Job Description:
Our client has a requirement for a Project Manager for a 6 month contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto.

Role:
We need an experienced project manager to run a medium sized project as well as a couple of smaller projects concurrently.
Project: Medium size project which is part of a bigger project (supporting role) to a major initiative. Management of small to large projects (ranging in size from $400K to $3M), including multiple internal applications and external vendors.
  • Manage day to day project activities of medium complexity or units/phases of a larger complex project
  • Plan, execute, control and close out project against defined scope and budget.
  • Utilize accepted standards and procedures.
  • Maintain team relationships and team coaching and development. Manage stakeholder expectations. Manage risk and ensure compliance.
  • Manager is looking for someone engaged, who cares, very flexible and creative.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for the oversight and execution of several medium complexity projects.

  • Works autonomously in the management of the unit and collaborates with other business heads to establish and execute on common goals.
  • Manages activities of medium complexity projects. Ensures delivery of projects to the business partner, meeting the approved scope/cost/schedule/quality for the project.
  • Perform a governing role for, ensuring that the proposal, execution, control, deployment, training and hand off, warranty support, and closure to meet schedules.
  • Strong involvement with other business units.
  • Estimation and planning, risk assessment, contingency planning, tracking and management of progress, issues, budget, risk and resources.
  • Accountability for project budget and time lines.
Requirement or Qualifications:
  • Proven leadership skills and experience managing IT projects.
  • Full life cycle development experience.
  • Experience with proven project methodology tools.
  • PMI or ITIL certification.
  • Expertise in MS Project, Excel, Visio and Powerpoint.

  • Solid PM – Application Development
  • Technical knowledge SDLC
