Role:

Our clients Information Technology Division is looking for a qualified Business Analyst - Cloud Policy Specialist to act as a subject matter expert on both cloud and on-premise based IT systems responsible for ensuring that the opportunity for cloud use is efficient and complementary.

 

Scope:

Our client is seeking to enhance its ability to evaluate and leverage cloud computing solutions with the proper policy framework and legal requirements in place to do so. As a first step the Client needs to investigate the current technology industry landscape and identify corporate policy gaps that need to be-addressed.

The role will require people skills and strong problem solving skills. The candidate has to understand the nature of the Client's business and its legal guidelines to address the needs of its clients.

The successful candidate will provide enterprise architecture support for cloud computing services design, key contract terms and implementation. The candidate will develop relationships with key stakeholders to help them achieve their business goals while paving the way for more options in promoting innovative solutions. Translates early business needs and insights into actionable Cloud/IT strategy, and assists the customer in driving these initiatives to early results and business value.

The Business Analyst - Cloud Policy Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of Cloud initiatives at the Client. The Cloud Policy Specialist will be directly and indirectly responsible for establishing cloud related policies and services based on industry best practices for business and technical requirements and will provide advice and guidance to senior leadership team members within the IT department.

In addition, the successful candidate must assist the senior IT Leadership team to develop Cloud strategy and direction for the enterprise. This may include the development and rollout of new service offerings, acquisition of talent with specialized Cloud Computing skill sets and integrating them into the existing teams.

This work includes and is not limited to:

• Provide thought leadership on Cloud use cases and technology requirements to the IT Leadership team;
• Develop relationships with clients, business partners, vendors, and others involved. In the business;
• Create and maintain Key Performance Indicators;
• Evangelize the Cloud Model with Business Users;
• Develop new business practices that leverage the Cloud;
• Excellent planning, relationship building, and problem solving skills;
• Demonstrated experience and success in leadership roles especially in the Cloud Consulting arena;
• Knowledge of Cloud products and technologies and demonstrates the ability to appropriately apply this knowledge to assist customer achieving their business goals;
• Build credibility and strengthen relationships within the IT group and clients;
• A proven team builder with excellent managerial and strategy-development skills;
• Demonstrated experience working with senior level executives at Crown Corporations, Municipal, Provincial and Federal Governments organizations;
• Excellent written communications;
• Professional verbal communications (mature and professional);
• Quality document preparation.

 

Requirement or Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have:

• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or an equivalent of related education and experience
• Minimum 5+ years of consulting experience;
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in Cloud Platform technologies preferred;
• Intimate knowledge of legal contract terms specific to Cloud Solutions; and
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to articulate a departmental vision that is aligned with both corporate and IT strategies.

 

Desirable Qualifications:

• Thorough knowledge of the cloud computing industry landscape
• Results oriented, with excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal/team skills with core team members
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and escalate tasks appropriately.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Strong verbal communication skills, necessary in order to understand business requirements, interact with client and to explain constraints to the cross functional team.
• Flexible, dependable, and capable of multi-tasking;
