Our client has a requirement for Technical Support for a 6 months contract opportunity. The positions are located in Toronto.

Requirements or Qualifications

We are looking for ONE MS Winodws IT Specialist for our Specialized Support Group (SSG) within Infrastructure Technology Solutions. SSG is responsible for the infrastructure for a number of applications which support both the Wholesale Bank and Treasury & Balance Sheet Management.

Primarily, the applications supported by SSG in Wholesale are Securities Trading Systems focused on low latency electronic trading. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of all elements required to support Securities Trading Systems both front office and back office including grid like environments. This will be a challenging position, with involvement in many projects and support across a dynamic fast paced environment.

 

Projects:

• Work with Design Leads to provide appropriate technology solution.
• Build and implement new Infrastructure solution as per design.
• Working closely with Application development teams to ensure the appropriate end-to-end solution is implemented

 

Service Request

Provide rapid turnaround day-to-day support to Application teams in the following areas.

• Technical response to developer queries for assistance i.e. performance info during testing
• Deployment changes as per request to PAT and Prod environments.
• Access Management
• Server Configuration Management and troubleshooting in Development environment

 

Job Description/Accountabilities:

The individual’s primary responsibility will be to acquire the technical expertise and balance it with business knowledge to support the subsequent applications and provide support of the product.

They will be required to:

• Provide end to end support from dev all the way to production environments, including after hour on-call duties.
• Incident escalation point for both Level 1 application and infrastructure support teams.
• Primary responsibility for incident resolution
• Implement application and infrastructure changes
• Capacity and security management
• The candidate must hold a range of broad knowledge of MS Windows server and be eager to learn how to support the business and understanding business requirements.
• In addition, the candidate is expected to have the following support skills:
  
  

Qualified Candidates will have:
Must Haves:

• Min 5 yrs experience with MS Windows advanced administration and server builds
• 4-5 yrs of experience with Clustering – build, troubleshoot and support
• Working knowledge with storage (ability to connect MS Windows Servers to SAN storage and troubleshoot)
• Practical hands on experience - troubleshooting MS Windows, hardware issues and application issues
• 5 yrs working knowledge and solid understanding of MS Windows access fundamentals
• 5 yrs Enterprise environment experience - working on large-scale projects
• 5 yrs Project-based work and support-related experience
• 5 yrs management of 100+ servers
• 5 yrs of monitoring using HP SIM and/or other tooling
• 3-5 yrs scripting knowledge
• Design, build, test, and deploy MS Windows server solutions that involve best practices and are consistent with project objectives and client requirements.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level infrastructure support including on-call after hours support.
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude while working with high demands and short deadlines
• Demonstrates experience involving strong communications skills (written and verbal), proven ability to effectively interact with individuals across business units and at various levels within the Bank (technical, business, including Management).
• Highly organized and possessing strong analytical skills
• Highly adaptable with ability to work in a fast paced demanding environment
• Must be team-oriented with ability to work well with multiple teams in a cross-functional setup
• Self-motivated, with strong sense of ownership and urgency to deliver projects/tasks in a timely fashion
• Must be able to effectively represent SSG on escalated incident management calls from operations

 

In addition, the candidate is expected to have the following support skills as well:

• Balanced knowledge of business, application, server, and network technologies
• Broad application, protocol, server, network diagnosis skills
• Fluent with transaction & data flow through the system

 

Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

• Financial Services IT experience
• Broad experience with IP networking concepts - routers, firewalls, etc
• Teamwork - strong relationships with developers and business analysts, architecture & operations
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities
• Effective time management skills and ability to work under deadlines and operational pressures
