About the Job

Our client has a requirement for Mobile Platform Developers for a 1 year contract opportunity. The positions are located in Toronto and London, ON.

Requirements or Qualifications

The successful candidate will be responsible the design and development of mobile applications across a variety of platforms supporting integration with multiple enterprise systems.

• Hands-on multi-tier, design and development for mobile devices integrating with RESTful services.
• Ensure proper architectural principals, coding standards, code builds and continuous integration process is followed.
• Ensure defect free programming by testing and debugging using available/appropriate tools and participate in reviewing peer coding
• Carry out requirements reviews, design reviews and code reviews.
• Work with the business/product, QA, architecture, vendor, and other technology partners to successfully deliver projects on time and on budget.
• Packaging, deployment and support of builds as code is promoted from Development, System,
• Acceptance & Production environments
• Work closely with infrastructure teams to ensure that development and integration environments are fully functional and that builds are properly deployed
• Contribute to testing strategies including automated functional and load testing user interfaces
• Identify and communicate technical issues and risks to the project manager and work with developers and vendors to resolve.
• Ensure that standards and best practices are documented and that the documentation is kept up to date.
• Provide estimates of effort for design, development, unit testing of application changes

 

Qualified Candidates will have:

 

Must Haves: 

Minimum 2 years’ experience developing online applications involving:

• At least one native platform – iOS or Android. BB and Win8 a bonus.
• Mobile programming experience: Objective C, xCode (iOS), or J2ME (Android).
• 2+ years HTML5, JavaScript
• 2 + years Webservices
• Thorough understanding SDLC processes
• Strong knowledge of object oriented analysis and design, implementation and maintenance

 

Nice to Haves:

• C#, Metro (Window), C++ (BB) a bonus.
• Web Technologies: , CSS, HTML-DOM, AJAX
• REST, JAX-RS, JSON, XML an asset
• Web Frameworks such as Dojo, jQuery, Sencha an asset
• A University or College degree in Computer Science or equivalent field

 

Soft Skills:

• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to ask the right questions to understand and drill down to the root cause of issues.
• Working in an environment where a high degree of multitasking is the norm.
• Working in a rapidly changing, technically complex environment.
• Well organized, self-motivated, strong team player.
