Job Description:

Our client has a requirement for a Client Domain Architect-Unix & Network for a Permanent role. The position is located in Toronto, Ontario

 

 

Role:

Reporting to a Manager of the Technologies and Infrastructure business unit, the chosen candidate will act as a senior system administrator on Linux and Solaris servers and will have the following responsibilities:

Requirements and Qualification:

• Strong Technical and Analytical Skills (Bell Network, VPN, Unix/Linux/WebLogic/DB [Oracle]) skills/ IT security concepts
• A broad understanding of network, server and virtualization solutions from Cisco, Vmware, Oracle, NetApp
• Understanding of ITIL methodologies with experience with the Incident, Problem, Change lifecycle
• Technical skills will need to be sufficient to lead systems team in diagnosis of issues during
• Soft Skills (These will be critical as client communication will be a requirement)
• Tactful communicator with the ability to present/lead technical discussions with clarity and vigor
• Good team player available to work under stressful circumstance

 

Resource Responsibilities:

• Maintains a detailed technical understanding of GIS delivery within a specific area;
• Provides technical coaching expertise to enable the correct application of operational procedures and technologies;
• Contributes to the planning and implementation of maintenance and installation work through their technical knowledge;
• Identifies complex technical problems and contributes to their resolution.
• Responsible for resource capacity and scheduling, design, quality and metrics for corrective and enhancement delivery;
• Provides technical management and governance, measures and meets SLAs;
• Responsible for team adherence to process and procedures;
• Supervises maintenance and installation delivery;
• Ensures that operational problems are identified and resolved;
• Provides level-appropriate status and other reporting;
• Identifies and proposes operational, process and quality improvements.
• May require off hour support
