Job Description

Our client has a requirement for a Java Web Developer for an eight month contract opportunity. The position is located in Ottawa, ONT

Requirements or Qualifications

Must Have

• A minimum of three (3) years experience in the design, development and support of web-based applications is required (mandatory).
• Skilled in web-based development with knowledge and experience with the following:
• Analyzing web portal application business and functional requirements
• Negotiating solutions with multiple stakeholders
• Following application development framework, software configuration control and release management processes and practices
• Bilingual user interface design and in coding W3C accessible user interfaces
• Analyzing applications for potential internet security problems
• Developing test plans and procedures

• Ability to clearly document technical specifications and infrastructure requirements for self-produced technical work and job processes
• Self-sufficient and have good English oral and written communications
• Be able to maintain & test applications that they did not develop themselves
• Able to provide knowledge transfer in the way of documentation and information for in-house staff to be able to maintain & support developed work;
• Experience leading small projects, managing clients and activity scope
• Experience developing using an Agile methodology is highly desirable
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• 1 year experience in developing service oriented architecture applications using web services;
• 3 years proficiency in a number of technologies including: Java, JSP, JSF, Hibernate;
• 3 years experience with the following development platforms:
• Oracle Weblogic application server
• Apache 2
• Unix Solaris 10, Windows 2003, Windows 2008
• Eclipse IDE

Preferred Experience

• Development using the Oracle Service Bus
• Unix Solaris 11
• Oracle Weblogic application server
• Experience developing applications for mobile browsers and laptops
• Experience developing software with SmartGuide from Alphinat.

 

Must have Valid Security Clearance (Enhanced Reliability or Secret)
