About the Job

Our client has a requirement for a Java Developer for a 12 Months contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto.

 

Role

Client is seeking for two Java developers to work on its new platform, which utilizes a single-page application front-end and a RESTful web service middle-tier. This will allow Client to deliver more responsive and faster applications‟ designed using the latest industry practices.

 

Responsibilities

• Implement Representational State Transfer (REST) web services using the Spring framework for Java and the Hibernate Object Relational Mapper (ORM);
• Add features to the eConsult and telemedicine directory applications using JavaScript and HTML5;
• Use the Vidyo application programming interfaces to integrate video conferencing into the application; and
• Implement other requirements and features, as identified by OTN management.
• Requirements gathering
• Participate in the requirements process by providing feedback on the feasibility of requested requirements; and
• Provide technical solutions to implement various requirements.
• Implement requirements;
• Test implementation to ensure proper operation;
• Correct any issues logged by the testing team; and
• Check all code into Client’s Subversion (SVN) repository.
• Correct all issues and ensure that all code is checked into Subversion (SVN); and
• Provide any training and documentation required by Client to maintain the changes and new features in the eConsult and telemedicine directory applications.

 

 Requirements

• The Proponent should have minimum 3 years of experience within most of the following technical areas, which should be presented through their resume:
• Video conference technology – Vidyo, Cisco/Tandberg
• Java/Web development
• Web Services technologies – REST, SOAP, JSON
• Web Security, including web service security
• Open Source infrastructure and frameworks: Apache Tomcat, Struts, Spring, Hibernate etc
• Ajax web technologies
• JavaScript frameworks
• Relational DB design and programming
• Database and Web applications security
• User identify management (authentication and authorization) and SSO
• LDAP
• Agile development process
• HTML
• Java
• JavaScript
