About the Job

Our client has a requirement for a SQL Server Database Administrator for a 6 Month Contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto, ON.

Role

Our client is looking for a SQL Server Database Administrator who has the ability to Design, build, test, deploy and develop quality database solutions for new projects consistent with project

Requirements or Qualifications 

• 5+ years SQL Server DBA working experience.
• Experienced in building SQL Servers in a SQL 2005 and SQL 2008 clustered environment - physical and virtual Experienced on different versions of MS SQL Server (2000, 2005 and SQL 2008) as well as Windows Operating system.
• Experienced in Data replication solutions – Log Shipping, Database Mirroring, Storage level Replication (e.g. True Copy), Native SQL Replication Experienced in Database backup and recovery strategies such as TSM.
• Understanding of High Availability and Disaster Recovery requirements and solutions.
• Ability to follow build process & complete build documentation
• MS MCDBA certification (nice to have)
• Good understanding of Transact SQL scripting language.
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude while working with high demands and short deadlines
• Ability to prioritize heavy workload with minimum supervision.
• Work with development project teams to design and implement database solutions to meet business requirements
• Must have excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Highly adaptable with ability to work in a fast paced demanding environment
• Must be team-oriented with ability to work well with multiple teams in a cross-functional setup
• Must demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining database solutions.
