About the Job

Our client has a requirement for a Solution Architect with Mobile experience for a 5 month contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto.

Role

The successful incumbent will participates in design, development and implementation of architectural deliverables include components of the assessment and optimization of system design and review of business requirements.

This role will contribute to the determination of technical and operational feasibility of solutions. Develops prototypes of the system design and works with Infrastructure Technology Service and Technology Risk Management and Information Security throughout the development and implementation processes. This role leads multiple projects with competing deadlines. Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient resource; provides tech knowledge and capabilities in Mobile as team member and individual contributor.

Serve in the role of a Mobile Architect in support of Direct Channels Technology Services Architecture and Innovation team. Mobile Architect will be focused on driving Next Generation UI and multi-channel goals and objective to define strategic framework capabilities and support business initiatives.

The Mobile Architect will support business initiatives and strategic efforts that focus on building and leveraging information assets to improve sales and service activities for our business partners. 

Responsibilities

• Drive conceptual architecture design for new initiatives in Mobile 
• Own and drive emerging technology proof of concepts 
• Ensure initiatives are adhering to strategic architecture principles 
• Work with business partners to translate functional requirements into technical requirements 
• Identify technical solutions to business problems and drive to resolution 
• Participate in and drive cross-functional, cross discipline architecture teams to enhance / set the architectural direction for key business initiatives 
• Participate in the continued definition of target strategy for Direct Channels 
• Serve as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource; routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities as a team member or as an individual contributor. 
• Strong holistic understanding of Mobility Space, evolution and trends current and future 
• Multi-Device (at east iOS, Android) work experience, including Mobile Web especially in the area of HTML5 standards 
• Strong understanding of Enterprise Applications in mobile space and middleware required 
• Strong understanding of Mobile Enterprise Application Platforms, Mobile Device Management, Mobile Document Management, Mobile Payments , Mobile Authentication and Mobile Multi-Platform development challenges, need and evolution 
• Experience in leading strategic work and also capable of collaborating with different customer stakeholders 
• Work towards driving cross channel and Mobile initiatives 
• Strong facilitating and communication skills

Skills and Qualifications

• 5 + years solution architect experience 
• Experience in a large organization OR with a consulting firm. 
• Experience designing web applications 
• Experience designing Enterprise Java solutions 
• Working experience with SOA and experience identifying and consuming Web Services 
• Knowledge of Web2.0 
• Knowledge of HTML5 
• Prior experience in mobile archtiectures an asset 
• Prior financial Experience is a strong asset 
• Exposure to TOGAF or Zachman 
• Knowledge of SOAP/XSD/WSDL 
• Knowledge of IBM ESB products (WebSphere DataPower and Enterprise Service Bus) 
• Web content management systems & architecture – specifically SDL Tridion 
• Experience with Pega Rules Process Commander
