About the Job

Our client has a requirement for Application Support Analyst for a 6 month contract to hire opportunity.  The position is located in downtown Toronto.

Role

The Application Software Testing Analysts/Support Analysts are hired to support the critical regulatory risk application. We are looking for someone that is used to fast paced, demanding/busy environment. The contractors will be mostly responsible for Support and Testing and will slowly be adding some development related activities (UNIX)
These positions will most likely be temp to perm, we unfortunately do not have the annual salary information as of yet.

Responsibilities

·         Day-to-day governance and monitoring production health

·         Deliver daily/weekly/monthly business reports meeting predefined SLAs

·         Properly analyze production issues and escalate to managers regarding SLA related problems

·         Execute routine business requests without delays

·         Proactively participate in release activities and execute release tasks

·         Help to monitor and improve EOD processes, performance monitoring and tuning

Skills and Qualifications

·         University degree in applied technologies, e.g. C.S.

·         2 to 3 years of experience (we do not want senior candidates)

·         Experience in Finance/Banking Industry is an asset(we are looking for someone that has Business Knowledge)

·         Unix & Solaris OS

·         Database Oracle or Sybase (Oracle is preferred)

·         Shell/Perl scripting

·         C++ C#, JAVA & .Net (exposure at a minimum)

·         Ability to support risk application, analyze and solve problems.

·         Detail oriented, multi-tasking, strong organizational skills, quick adaptation to complex operational process

·         Able to work in high-paced, high-pressure environment

·         Occasional overtime work will be required (late night as the contractors will be working closely with China counterparts for this project)

·         Proactive mind, problem solving skills

·         Sense of urgency

·         Hard working and disciplined
