Our client has a requirement for a Business Intelligence Director for a permanent opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto.

Role

A recent opening within Client's Communications Services Business (CSB) business unit has created an exciting opportunity for a Director of Consulting in Business Intelligence (BI) practice.

The ideal candidates will want to work in a highly dynamic and fast paced environment where he or she works closely with our internal and external clients. The ideal candidate will want to be on the cutting edge of technology, exploring exciting areas of our clients and Client’s future business while keeping up the standard of being leaders in the industry.

To be successful for this position you should have in depth experience in various areas of BI with strong communication skills in order to facilitate the sales cycles and delivery of projects. While the primary office for this position is located at Markham office it is expected of the member to travel to client sites from time to time (mainly in Mississauga area).

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis, design, development and testing of various application components
• Ability to understand users' business requirements and translate them to specifications.
• Provide support to client and to team lead; confirm effort estimates and produce technical documentation staying attuned to latest technologies
• Interface with customers and set expectations
   

Requirements or Qualifications

• Must have knowledge that covers the following the multitude of BI areas such as Reporting, Databases, Data warehousing Data modeling(logical, conceptual, physical), report / dashboard design and ETL with demonstrated experience
• Experience in consulting environments. Ability to determine client BI and Data Warehousing needs, draft proposal, roadmaps, scoping, costing and technical implementation plans.
• Experience with various BI / DW tools
• Experience with leading Offshore development teams
• Experience with AGILE development methodology
• Ability to partner with customers to identify needs and apply appropriate technical and business solutions to help Client gain new business
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, ability to build consensus and manage relationships
• Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong team player. Capable of working with different teams which have different dynamics and reaching consensus to move forward.
• Manage program work plan to ensure work is assigned and completed on time and within budget
• Identify, manage and mitigate project risks.
• Ensure that the solution(s) proposed is of acceptable quality (and adheres to the Client Partnership Management Framework (CPMP)).
• Proactively manage scope to ensure that only what was agreed to is delivered, unless changes are approved through scope management.
• Define and collect metrics to give a sense for how the project is progressing and whether the deliverables produced are acceptable.

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field

  Other Requirements

• Occasional overtime required to meet project time lines.
