Job Description
Our client has a requirement for an IT Transformation and Transition Program Manager for 12 months contract. The position is located in Edmonton, Alberta

Requirements and Qualifications
Services
  • Lead the transformation and transition initiatives within the client’s Department
  • Facilitate the Department internal planning, designing, and implementation of technical infrastructure (where required) and processes for the initiatives by creating go-forward project plans and status reports
  • Coordinate project activities and work with all stakeholders and vendors to ensure a highly coordinated and effective approach to planning and implementation of the transformation initiatives
  • Support other project teams and business areas within the Department and stakeholders that are dependent on the initiatives
  • Plan and attend regularly occurring status meetings with team members from each transformation initiative to track progress, issues, and assignment of action items
  • Manage dependencies, key milestones, and risks for the transformation and transition initiatives
  • Maintain the internal Department project plan (e.g. Gantt chart) to track progress of transformation and transition initiatives
  • Create and deliver presentations using Microsoft products (e.g. Powerpoint) in support of the transformation and transition initiatives as requested by the Executive Director, Information Technology Operations branch
  • Provide assistance and expertise in reviewing and negotiating service contracts with vendors to ensure business needs are met and that the Department is receiving good value
  • Advise the Executive Director of Information Technology Operations on all matters in relation to the Information Technology Operations Branch.

Deliverables
The deliverables to be provided by the successful Vendor’s resource include but are not limited to the following:
  • Updated go-forward plans, showing dependencies, milestones and future activities;
  • Updated project plan (eg. Gantt chart) ;
  • Monthly status reports.

Work Products
The work products to be provided by the successful Vendor’s resource include but are not limited to:
  • Presentation(s) using Microsoft products (e.g. Powerpoint) and/or other tools
  • Briefing Notes using Templates and Microsoft Word Issue reports
  • Meeting agendas, minutes, and action logs using templates provided by the client
  • Program Schedule
  • Regular project status updates to Executive Director of IT, and others
  • Project coordination with the various related health initiatives
  • Risk Management Plan
  • Risk Log
  • Risk Escalation
  • Decision Requests
  • Information Requests
  • Change Requests
  • Negotiation strategies and tactics
  • RFP’s and associated appendices
  • Evaluation plans, evaluations, associated score sheets and pricing spreadsheets
  • Agreements and associated schedules
  • Proposed service contracts and amendments and any other work products as required
