Our client has a requirement for a Systems Analyst/Programmer for a 1 year contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto.

Role

Logistics Systems department is looking for a qualified Systems Analyst / Programmer to work as part of a project team to deliver and implement Traffic and Customs solutions to the Logistics Division.

As part of the implementation project team, the Systems Analyst / Programmer will work collaboratively with Logistics Clients, Project Team and applicable software vendors to analyze business needs, identify/develop integration points, test and implement the solution.

This work includes and is not limited to: 

• Translate business requirements to technical and architecture recommendations
• Develop and/or acquire applicable solutions
• Assist with software installation, configuration and data migration
• Identify and resolve issues
• Assist with System Integration Testing, Client Acceptance Testing or any client specific software testing.
• Provide project status updates to the Project Manager and the Functional Manager
• Co-ordinate activities with core team members, end users and other team members.

Requirements

Mandatory:

• 10+ years experience working in the Information Technology field
• Proven analysis, design and programming experience
• Sound working knowledge of the UNIX (AIX) and Windows operating systems environment
• Demonstrated skills in: AIX scripting, PL/SQL packaging and programming, C#, ASP.NET, MVC, HTML, Javascript, CSS
• Experience working with Oracle and SQL Server database technology
• Experience working with Team Foundation Server
• System knowledge obtained through a combination of university / college computer programming courses and related business experience.

Desirable:

• Ability to trouble-shoot and to effectively address system issues
• Strong documentation skills – business flows, software requirement specification, process diagrams
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills, customer focused team player.
• Effective ability to translate complex technical content and requirements into simple easy to understand language
