Job Description
Our client has a requirement for Project Manager for a 6 month contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto.

Role
  • Preparing project statements, resource planning, status reporting, monitoring status of deliverables.
  • Stakeholder management, gathering & documenting requirements, documenting project plan, strategy and implementation plan as per the standards
  • Creating and maintaining project schedules (Work Breakdown Structures) using MS Project Professional
  • Coordinating project meetings (e.g. steering committee, team meetings), including issuing of agendas, scribing minutes and following up on action items with the project team
  • Generating and publishing project reporting (status reports with schedule information, milestones, dependencies, issues, risks, change requests, financials, metrics, etc)
  • Identification, preparation and tracking of project change requests, reviewing the requests to ensure all impacts are identified and estimates are reasonable
  • Preparing project presentations and communications
  • Managing overall program/projects budget and expenditures
  • Supporting program/projects orientation for new staff and consultants assigned to the project
  • Transferring knowledge to designated clients staff
  • Regular review of all actual expenses to budgets, which includes tracking and monitoring of monthly expense accruals, and perform reconciliation of expenditures against budget
  • Create and maintain a summary report of expenditures
  • Development of Project Management, Relationship Management, Quality Management, IT Change Management, Issues & Risk Management, Incident Management, Security Management, Service Continuity Management, Release Management plans, Communication plan and Project Charter
  • Monitor project deliverables and documentation for quality and ensure standards are followed
  • Provide a project schedule
  • Ensure timely communication with various internal and external stakeholders
  • All Project and Program Management Services
  • Facilitate development and approval of Threat Risk Assessment (TRA) for new environments
  • Facilitate and review procurement of hardware and software as required
  • Configuration and setup of infrastructure
  • Co-ordinate deployment of the Development/Test, UAT and Production environments
  • Co-ordinate with the other Project Managers, Vendor Project Managers, Client Project Managers and ITS Project Manager
  • Plan for Support and Monitoring of environments based on existing Managed Services standards
  • IT governance tasks related to the program

Requirements and Qualifications  
  • Experience in Program and Project Management and use of Project Management software (Enterprise Project Management)
  • Managing multiple concurrent tasks in a multi-tiered application development environment
  • Selecting and establishing business methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to develop successful relationships with high level customers including managing 3rd party vendors
  • Establishment and/or management of information resource management functions in large or medium sized organizations
  • Managing the governance, change management and implementation activities associated with large IT projects such as data conversion and database loading
  • Experience in structured methodologies for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of support services
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; oral and written communication skills; inter-personal and negotiation skills
  • A team player with a proven track record for meeting strict deadlines
  • Knowledge of Technical Architecture & experience with OPS UPM gating and checkpoint processes
  • Ability to process project information with high levels of accuracy
  • Knowledge of and experience with tools and techniques for planning, organizing, monitoring and controlling IT project schedules, plans, progress, delivery and costs
  • Knowledge of and experience with monitoring and reporting on project progress and delivery using, MS Project. MS Enterprise Project Management (EPM), Share-Point and Visual Process are assets
  • Knowledge of and experience with maintaining a central repository of project schedules, plans, reporting and deliverables
  • Ability to produce a variety of business documents (in MS Office) that demonstrate command of language, clarity of thought and orderliness of presentation (including MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Visio)
