About the Job

Our client has a requirement for a Application Programmer for a 6 Month Contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto, ON.

Role

We are looking for a recent and solid Cobol developer with mainframe technologies: DB2, IMS and JCL with a potential opportunity for contract to hire.

Responsibilities

• Complete development tasks as assigned by tech leads supporting the development of new applications or enhancements of existing applications
• Develop quality solutions for program/system issues consistent with project objectives and requirements and follow technology architecture standards
• Produce and/or assist with the production of various SDLC/PMLC deliverables including development of project documentation of system requirements, estimates of cost, etc.
• Derive and consult on all aspects of research, analysis, design and development of technical solutions
• Work across multiple applications leveraging your experience to assist other team members in system research, analysis and problem resolutions

Qualifications

• Sound knowledge of COBOL, JCL, IMS, DB2
• minimum 5 years recent development experience with mainframe technologies: DB2, IMS, JCL
• Experience with DB2 (both Z & Distributed versions) Oracle & SQL Serv
• Has worked with DB2 DPF (data Partitioning Feature)
• SRS and SDS experience
