About the Job
Our client has a requirement for a Business Analyst for a 6 Month Contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto, ON.

Role
Our client is looking for an Analyst, Risk Reporting and Infrastructure

Responsibilities
  • Report, analyze, and investigate outputs of market risk measurement systems
  • Carry out independently quantitative analysis and troubleshoot problems effectively
  • Ensure that risk reporting is accurate, complete, defensible and timely
  • Contribute to system enhancement and testing
  • Ensure risk platforms used for risk capture are current and internally consistent
  • Document operational procedures, control processes, and policies relevant to internal controls

Requirements or Qualifications
  • Bachelor/Masters degree in a technical field, i.e. Statistics, engineering, mathematics, quantitative finance.
  • 3 to 4 years of related work experience, preferably in a financial institution.
  • Knowledge of financial products.
  • Knowledge of risk management strategies.
  • Broad understanding and experience with risk management methodologies, particularly VaR and the variance/covariance approach.
  • Quantitative analysis skills
  • Team player
  • Demonstrated aptitude to work in a self-directed manner on projects.
  • Strong quantitative and computer skills with programming knowledge in VBA and SQL/Sybase
  • Strong analytic and troubleshooting skills with a solution-oriented attitude.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines while paying attention to details.
