About the Job

Our client has a requirement for a Systems Support Analyst for a 3 month contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto.

Role:

This team uses 4 different types of databases; Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase and Netezza. There is less and less Sybase used in their environment and professionals with Netezza experience are difficult to find, so we are focusing on finding individuals with Oracle and SQL Server expertise. Experience/familiarity with Netezza and/or Sybase would be nice to have’s, but not required.

 

 

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

• At least 3-5 years of experience required working in a DBA position
• Experience with Oracle (preferably Oracle 10g / Oracle 11g)
• Experience with Data Guard
• Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for system monitoring
• Experience with RAC
• Experience with SQL Server 2005, SQL Server 2008; SQL Server 2008 is most important as most of their databases are in 2008
• Experience with SQL Server 2012 would be an asset as they are creating SQL Server 2012

 

Must Haves:

• Experience with maintenance/ patching/ managing access/ back-up & restore/ performance issues/ troubleshooting
• Experience with creating a new environment (when there is a new project, for example)
• Experience with release management – when a project is ready to go live they will do the releases/implementations

Nice to Have: Netezza and/or Sybase experience Previous banking experience.
