Job Description
Our client has a requirement for a Senior Business Analyst for 4 months contract. The position is located in Vancouver, BC.

Role
Our client will be undertaking an initiative to develop and implement effective information governance, access to reliable information, and robust analytic tools and technology to support decision making across the enterprise. The current phase of the project (Definition Phase) will leverage existing investments made by other projects to advance Client’s capabilities for information management and information analytics. The goal of these major investments is to facilitate improved decision-making and performance management across the enterprise.
 
The high-level scope of this initial Definition Phase is summarized as follows:
  • Establish enterprise governance model for information management and analytics
  • Develop and prioritize initial use cases for information analytics
  • Develop and document the initial technical and process architecture that is to be delivered during the Implementation Phase (high level design of proposed solution)
  • Prepare accurate costs estimates and refined scope for the Implementation Phase

 Responsibilities
  • Establish effective and innovative processes to gather, analyze, document and manage requirements related to Information Management and Analytics by:
    • Identifying and documenting an inventory of detailed governance processes
    • Supporting the effort to identify and document an inventory of information lifecycle policies
    • Supporting the creation a tactical plan to deploy on the Information Management strategy
  • Contribute effectively as a team player within the project team.
  • Advise on best practices, drive improvements and simplifications of information management solutions.
  • Facilitate and lead workshops with Subject Matter Experts (SME), impacted stakeholders, and implementation consultants to identify and define complete and correct business requirements, gain an understanding and agree on process design solutions and identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Review and advise on documentation templates and standards.
  • Produce high quality business requirements documents, current state and future state process design solutions, design specifications, and key decision documents.
  • Work to ensure viability of process design solutions and that they satisfy business requirements. Conversely, ensure that the business requirements are satisfied by the solutions.
  • Conduct Fit-Gap analysis to recommend solutions.
  • Manage business requirements and process design issues.
  • Document detailed procedures to accompany processes for training and testing inputs.
  • Estimate assigned tasks, report progress and escalate issues to Project Manager, Information Analytics
  • Provide ongoing clarification and support to the configuration, change management, training, and testing teams to ensure correct interpretation of the business requirements and process design and to contribute their success.
  • Support testing

Requirements
  • Availability to perform the work within the timeframes stipulated
  • A minimum of 5 years of Business Analyst experience – candidates are required to have in depth knowledge and proven expertise in this area
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Information Management
  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, PMP Designation or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • In depth knowledge of Information Management may be an asset
