Job Description

Our client has a requirement for a Technology Specialist for a 10 month contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto.

Role

• Evangelizing the client’s products towards their Distributers, Resellers and OEM Partners on a daily basis via phone, email and in-person.
• Driving product/technical training and sales floor support to the client’s Canadian Partners
• Educating partner communities on features/functionality of Windows Server & SQL Server products
• Help our partners develop customer solutions by recommending our products
• Answer product/technical and licensing questions on our products
• Maintain day to day contact with the client’s Canadian partners to drive continuous sales growth within the Server & Tools products suite.
• Provide the client’s Canadian business and segment groups with regular and valuable insights on challenges and opportunities at our partners as well as understanding of competitor products and their offers at partners.
• Understand and maintain ongoing learning of our product value propositions, technical capabilities, and ongoing changes to the features in relation to competitor offerings.
• Be a point of contact for Internal Sales folks to develop a greater understanding of server products and answer key questions.

 

Requirements

• Previous field experience working with Windows Server is required (3-5) years in-depth knowledge of the product will be required
• Experience and in-depth knowledge of SQL Server is a strong asset
• Amount of experience is flexible, as long as candidates are knowledgeable on the products via solid IT experience
• The role is not a sales role they will be partnering with Sales (account managers) to play the role of a technical SME
• Will be responsible for addressing specific technical questions from the client’s partners and resellers, liaising with IT teams at partner sites (need to speak the language)
• Responsible for technical training, online and in person you should be comfortable presenting to groups of 10-20 people – excellent communications skills required
• Regular local travel (1-2 times a week) to partner sites will be required. Vehicle and license required
• There may be long distance travel required every 6 months.
• Familiar with Microsoft Server & Tools products, specifically Windows Server (required) & SQL Server Products (asset)
• 3-5 years technical experience (experience with Windows Server in an IT role)
• 3-5 years working with SMB organizations and asset
• Experience with Canadian technology distributers and reseller organization-
• Microsoft Certified Professional is a plus
