About the Job

Our client has a requirement for Software Database Engineer for a 3 months contract opportunity. The positions are located in Vancouver.

Role
Our Client is looking for a database engineer with a problem-solving attitude to support implementation of Business Intelligence platform.
This role is looking for someone very passionate, energetic and credible with senior managers to help our enterprise customers activate, launch and drive adoption of their Yammer network.

Responsibilities

• Support maintenance of a data warehouse in Azure Hadoop as well as SQL Server analytic data marts
• Troubleshoot database performance problems and propose short term fixes and long term solutions.
• Implement self-serve reporting using SSRS, PowerView and PowerPivot
• Create tabular and multi-dimensional models for SSAS.
• Support implementation of and maintenance of real-time monitoring dashboards

Requirements

• Hands on SQL Server development experience
• Expert knowledge of SSAS.
• SSRS
• ETL
• Excellent data modeling and schema design skills, including normalization and de-normalization.
• Strong familiarity with .NET, C#, and CLR objects.
• Experience using Visual Studio for Database Professional (20010 or 2012) and TFS is highly preferred.
• Prior experience performing analytics and data mining
• Experience with Java, Azure Hadoop, Linux administration and NOSQL databases are all big pluses.
