About the Job
Our client has a requirement for a Quality Analyst for a 12 Month Contract opportunity. The position is located in Mississauga, ON.

Role
This project will be at the System and Integration Testing phase where this Sr QA will be required to perform in-depth hands-on testing, thorough analysis of defects and issues, as well as detail co-ordination with offshore team. This candidate will also be required to assist in data setup, coordination and support BAT activities.

Responsibilities
  • Review BRD, SRS, SDS documentation to understand testing requirements, test environments and objectives.
  • Participate in test planning, assist in preparing various testing documentation (e.g. test strategy, traceability matrix, test plan, defect management plan, schedule etc.) and test results walkthroughs
  • Identify, develop and document test scenarios and/or test cases
  • Configure and implement and/or maintain and validate test data as well as validate test environments
  • Execute test cases within the testing environment, ensuring accuracy and record test results / defects and obtain approval
  • Maintain and provide accurate testing status reports during testing phases and maintain documentation of test results according to defined processes / tools
  • Create testing documentation – test strategies, plans, schedules
  • Report the status of test planning, defects and execution activities
  • Participate in post implementation reviews and processes (e.g. lessons learned, post-install application verification, warranty support reviews etc.)
  • Assist in the preparation of a test result walkthroughs / presentations to the project team and business representatives
  • Apply and follow established testing best practices
  • Complete tasks according to project timelines/schedules and costs
  • Recommend process improvements where appropriate
  • Involvement in meetings and requirement review sessions for the planning phase of testing activities
  • Work with QA Manager/Project managers, development teams and business users to define and document non-functional, functional and regression testing requirements that need to be covered during System Integration Testing.
  • Prepare and provide a handover session to support teams that will be accountable for BAT support
 
Qualifications
  • Experience in HP Quality Centre and QTP Automation
  • Strong SDLC experience
  • Experience with Excel and Word
  • Financial/Banking Industry experience
  • Hands-on testing, analysis of defects and issues an support BAT activities
  • Experience with BRD, SRS, SDS documentation to understand testing requirements, test environments and objectives
  • Sound understanding and working knowledge of software development life cycle and project management life cycle
  • Knowledge of testing including risk based testing, software development practices and methodologies, version control and defect management practices
  • Knowledge of Test Strategy development, Test Planning, Defect Reporting and Test Case design techniques for initiatives ranging from moderate to high complexity
  • Good understanding of business workflows, testing tools, products /applications involved and documentation repository practices and working with third party service partners
  • Experience in executing test strategy, test plans and test scripts
  • Experience with industry standard testing automation tools
  • Comfortable working on large scale, multi-component complex systems
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Experience with SDLC or other industry standard development processes
  • Team player
  • Ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision
