About the Job
Our client has a requirement for a SOA TECHNICAL ARCHITECT for a 6 months contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto, ON.

Role
  • We are looking for a Technical SOA Architect to work on various projects. Reporting to a Managing Architect, the successful candidate will be the recognized SOA architect for Wealth Management.
  • They will contribute to individual delivery projects, overall service strategy definition and execution for Wealth Management as well as liaise with the enterprise level SOA centre of Excellence.
  • Contribute to the Architecture knowledge base of Architecture, practices, and standards.
  • Execute all of the activities required as the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Wealth Management subject matter expert
 
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of SOA Architecture experience
  • JEE (Websphere) environment in a SOA context
  • XSD, XSLT, WSDL and SAML especially to support Service-orientation
  • Wealth experience
  • Expert knowledge of the connections between application architectures (SOA) and business, information and technical architectures
  • Consulting support for SOA projects
  • Deliver skills transfer as required
  • Provides input to the SOA Reference Architecture
  • Standards, patterns, guidelines, best practices and architectural decisions at all layers
  • Able to lead Service Modeling activities
  • In particular Identification and Specification of services
  • Thorough knowledge of Event processing and its interactions with services and SOA
  • Interface to integration oriented shared service that support SOA and Event Driven Architecture (EDA)
  • Enterprise Service Bus
  • Business Rules Management System
  • Business Process Management System
  • Support Infrastructure (engineering and operations) on the deployment and monitoring of services
  • Support SOA governance
  • Understand the essential linkages to Architectural governance and Technology Solutions governance.
  • Gather requirements
  • Understand the context, use and appropriateness of patterns
  • Understand key advantages enabled by multi-platform architectures
  • Able to translate business concepts and strategy to technology imperatives and designs
  • Understand and apply the concepts of enterprise architecture governance
  • Act as a key role model for compliance
  • Key contributor in understanding and documenting integration requirements created by multi-geographic support (e.g. Canada, US and UK)
  • Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks, in particular TOGAF
  • Experience with Business Process Management and associated activities
  • Workflow, task management, business rules management, document management, business activity monitoring
  • Experience in architecting and delivering process-oriented solutions.
  • Proven experience in working with Operations Architecture
  • High-availability, failover and disaster recovery

  • Solid understanding of Enterprise Data Architecture

  • Solid understanding of multi-channel requirements
  • Able to lead teams to gather input on continuous improvement

  • Able to minimize operational, reputational and proprietary risks
 
Nice to have
  • Experience in enterprise architecture frameworks, in particular TOGAF
  • Event Driven Architecture (EDA)
  • Experience with DB2 (both Z and distributed versions) Oracle and SQL Service
  • Experience with Master Data Management Implementation
  • TOGAF Certification
 
Responsibilities
