About the Job

Our client has a requirement for Solutions Developer for a 6 months contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto.

Requirements or Qualifications

The ideal candidate comes, from Credit card or card based payment systems. His previous work experience would be as a strong developer who transitioned into a system analyst role.
We are looking for a Senior Solutions Designer with strong technical skills and mainframe/ host experience.
Prime responsibility will be to design, review, and integrate all application requirements and support the build phase to ensure adherence to the development and shared service software architecture.
No development/coding is required; however, this candidate would need to produce and create design documents, do analysis and come up with solutions.

 

Prime Responsibilities 

• Provide technical leadership during the life of a project / initiative
• Consult on development of the System Requirements Specification (SRS)
• Overall accountability for the delivery of the System Design Specification (SDS) and responsible for developing the Component Design section of the SDS
• Define development specifications and identify system modifications required to meet performance objectives
• Advise and provide expert knowledge on the technical feasibility of the proposed deliverables
• Work with Developers to ensure that the detailed technical design is fully understood and the development initiatives are in line with the intended design
• Provide effort estimates for new projects and initiatives
• Ensure SDLC gating criteria are met
• Provide input into Application Deployment Plan

Requirements

Must Have

• Ability to document copybooks (COBOL File movements)
• Ability to create ‘mock” files. Populating a copybook with fictionalized data. (COBOL File movements)
• Cobol
• Mainframe/Host experience
• SRS / SDS
• Produce / create design documents
• Credit card industry background/experience

 

Nice to Have

• IMS
• Familiarity with existing bank systems
• JAVA
