About the Job

Our client has a requirement for a Server Administration/Migration Specialist with Technical Management Experience for a 3 months contract opportunity with the possibility of extension. The position is located in Toronto, ON.

Role and Responsibilities
One of our hiring managers is looking for a Technical Management Specialist with Windows/Linux/Solaris systems administration and migration experience to join their team.

They will be initially managing a Windows 7 migration project, so experience with a Windows 7 migration would be an asset, but is not required, as the kinds of projects that the team usually works on are on the server side and experience with Windows server, Linux and Solaris systems administration is most important.

• It is imperative that this individual has technical management experience within project delivery.
• They need to have over-seen a project and managed the delivery, handled day to day issues, delegated work to the resources, etc.
• Team lead experience is also crucial.
• This person will be 80% technical management and 20% technical hands-on.

Qualifications

• Technical management of project delivery (manage the delivery, issues, resources; delegate work)
• Team lead experience
• Server side administration experience and leading the server side project delivery (i.e. Windows 2008, Linux, Solaris)
• Windows system administration experience (v.2008, 2012, 7)
• Desktop/Server/Systems migration expertise (specifically Windows 7 would be an asset, but is not required)
• Experience with coordination and execution of the testing phase of a large roll-out
• Experience with technical troubleshooting
• Must be able to work independently
• Must have excellent communication
• IIS (Internet Information Services) Administration experience
• Linux and/or Solaris Administration experience (both will be a differentiator)

Nice to Have

• Experience with VERITAS HA (VERITAS Cluster Server)
• Previous financial experience
