About the Job

Our client has a requirement for Application Support Analyst - Intermediate for a 6 months contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto.

Main Role and Responsibilities

• Support existing VAR applications. Resolve customer problems. Advise customer about, or perform maintenance of software system.
• contractor will be supporting a couple of applications
• The applications sit on Unix, Linux and Solaris platforms

 Requirements 

• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue.
• Knowledge of computer development software, such as SQL, UNIX/Solaris/Linux.
• Data base commands/queries - Ie. SQL queries
• Unix commands
• Manager is seeking a candidate with 2-4 years experience
• Financial Industry experience would be an asset but not a requirement

Education/Experience

• Bachelor degree in computer science or relevant field required.
• 2 to 4 years experience required.
