Job Description
Our client has a requirement for a Senior Business Advisor for 6 months contract. The position is located in Toronto, Ontario.

Resource Responsibilities
  • Support business in creation of strategy and option assessment documents to drive Channels Modernization.
  • Identifying and establishing scope and parameters of business analysis in order to define outcome criteria and measure-taking actions, develop and document business processes and rules to ensure appropriate process and organization in place to support new system.
  • Lead and conduct end-to-end  business process mapping, business analysis and consulting services
  • Facilitating and leading in-depth workshops to elicit review and confirm business requirements, business process reengineering, data and workflows, business models, business rules and user interface design.
  • Preparing and presenting project proposals, including financial analysis, cost estimates, terms of reference and cost/benefit studies for each option.
  • Provide mentoring to staff to ensure the continuous improvement and compliance with established business analysis methodology and best practices.
  • Partnering with the business area in the development of end to end business process maps, lead other business analysts  team through business process mapping, i.e. process change, requirements definition, problem definition, benefit realization, design principles, etc.; lead collection of business case relevant information provided via stakeholder interviews.
  • Supporting all levels of management in defining business and operational goals by bringing clarity to unit strategies, understanding current process issues; conducting feasibility and business case analyses and making recommendations on business process improvements that may impact the business.
  • Completing impacts assessments.
  • Support business defining targets and future SLAS based on new models.
  • Supporting business through business testing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required. 

Knowledge & Skills
  • Lead engagement from start to finish while ensuring clients needs and wants are met in a timely and effective manner.
  • Communication, presentation and writing skills to prepare business proposals, action plans, business cases, concise summaries, etc.
  • Proven experience with end-to-end business process mapping, business and technical requirements analysis, business planning, modeling, verification and methodology and product development.
  • Research and analytical skills to identify problems and opportunities, recognize and monitor trends and potential implications including relevant IT business consulting experience with demonstrated analytical problem solving and decision making capability.
  • Influential skills include conflict management, negotiation and facilitation skills to act as a consultant in various forms to resolve issues, diffuse conflicts and handle escalated sensitive issues
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks, work under pressure and deliver under tight timeline.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Experience with computer systems and software, such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Visio, and the Internet to access information, develop project plans and prepare various letters and reports.
  • Proven experience working with accepted methods, standards, techniques and best practices for business and systems analysis and design; to lead and undertake sophisticated and complex and/or unique business analyses and make recommendations.
  • Analytical, evaluation and problem-solving skills, to assess client requirements and translate these into functional and information documentation (e.g. re process/IT requirements and changes)
  • Process re-engineer experience in defining current /future state.  Identify gap and assess impacts.
  • Interactive skills to be a skilled networker, to present and explain new concepts and ideas, build strong linkages with team members using various vehicles of communication to share information, act as a mentor, facilitator and motivator; act as a liaison between multiple project teams and clients to communicate business changes.
  • Decision making skills to make independent decisions and recommendations on various issues and solutions that impact the projects/programs.
  • Six Sigma background (or other equivalent Business Process Re-engineer certification)
  • Quality Assurance in SDLC cycles (test strategy, test cases and UAT)
  • Experience in eServices or eCommerce initiatives.
  • Worked in financial Services or Insurance
  • Familiar with agile methodologies such as Kanban / Scrum.
  • Having worked in implementation of Guidewire
