Job Description

Our client has a requirement for a Programmer/Developer for 10 months contract. The position is located in Toronto, Ontario.

Development Skills

• Demonstrated experience in all aspects of development gathering and understanding requirements, high quality code, solid knowledge of design.
• Delivery of high quality code with few bugs.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Solid design skills, knowledge of patterns, able to lead design/design sessions. Quality code, good documentation, takes responsibility for work done.
• Familiar with Agile (and similar) development patterns.
• Has a diverse range of development skills and can quickly adapt to novel technology.
• Experience with application and database deployment from development through to production.
• Worked with metadata driven systems.

Communication

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to describe and document complex features of systems for other developers.
• Able to lead design and other information sessions to describe new functionality, verify design and completeness of work.

Teamwork

• Looking for individuals who are willing to take on challenges and
• Excel in challenging fast paced environment.
• Able to adapt to fast moving team and changing requirements and still deliver quality components.

Testing

• Experience in test driven development.
• Ensure components and complex areas of the system are correct - minimizing need for involved, manual testing. Delivery of complete well tested code to reduce/eliminate late in testing and in production.

Database/LDAP

• A thorough understanding of SQL and database design, optimization and effective integration of application and data.
• Experience with LDAP - structure, approaches and programming to access repositories.
