Job Description

Our client has a requirement for a Project Managert for a 12 month contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto.

Role

The Project Manager will manage single large projects or multiple smaller projects in relation to software development.
The ideal candidate will work with different business units and with end-users to senior management. He/She will work within and contribute to the PMO framework, processes, and guidelines. The ideal candidate will ensure successful Quality Assurance, Management and Controls on projects, including documentation and upkeep of Project Control Books. The ability to achieve project objectives on time, on scope, and on budget is also necessary.

Requirements or Qualifications

• University Degree (BSc. or B.A.) or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years Project Management experience
• Strong knowledge of SDLC
• Demonstrated experience with all aspects of the PMLC
• Experience working in Oracle, SQL and .Net projects
• Must have PMO experience in IT from any industry (or worked in a company with a PMO as a Project Manager ) and PM framework and methodology experience
• Knowledge and demonstrated experience with project management methodologies
• Excellent knowledge of project management software such as MS Project and MS Office
• Superior communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
• Strong people management skills, demonstrated experience with leading, coaching, and influencing project teams and project stakeholders
• PMP designation
• Experience in implementing Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) on .NET platforms
• Experience with application development
• Ability to work, unassisted with minimum supervision
• Excellent written and verbal communication, facilitation, and consensus-building skills
• Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Good negotiation, interpersonal, and presentation skills
• Ability to work at a detailed level and quickly learn business application-specific details
