Job Description
Our client has a requirement for a PeopleSoft Functional Consultant for a 4 month contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto.

Role
  • Demonstrated skills in applying HR best practices and technologies, cost benefitanalysis and experience in implementing efficient and effective HR business system solutions using available modules with Oracle PeopleSoft Core Human Capital Management, Workforce Management, specifically AM&TL.
  • Proven ability to successfully coordinate and/or manage multiple tasks of varying magnitude and complexity with competing priorities and strict deadlines.
  • Strong team leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Have strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop and promote creative solutions to business computing problems, to mediate conflict between parties with opposing viewpoints or objectives and to motivate cross-functional teams to craft a common vision and bring that vision to fruition.
  • Have proven facilitator capabilities.
  • Solid team player, capable of working independently and in a team atmosphere.
  • Ability to plan and implement recommendations.
  • Strong computer skills (preferably MS Project, Microsoft windows, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Good knowledge of system development lifecycle methodologies, standards, tools and techniques.

Requirements or Qualifications

Educational Requirements
  • PeopleSoft training and/or certification.
  • Human Resource Management certification an asset.

Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of five (5) years of functional experience in human resources management with broad and deep practical experience in implementing the full suite of Oracle/Peoplesoft HR modules, specifically Absence Management and Time and Labour (“AM&TL”).
  • A minimum of three (3) year experience in business analysis and development of detailed specifications of large, medium or complex systems.
  • Hands on AM&TL configuration experience in PeopleSoft HCM 9.1.
  • Experience in investigating, analyzing, estimating, designing, testing and implementing system applications in a large integrated PC/client-server/internet technology based delivery environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in HR business process analysis with the ability to assimilate and develop applications for specific user needs.
  • Several years of experience working in the public sector working with unionized employees.
  • Experience in the implementation and project management processes.
  • Ability to interact effectively with key vendors and York’s staff (executives, senior management, staff, etc.).
  • Professional skill set requirements

Knowledge requirements
  • Extensive hands-on experience and functional knowledge of the Oracle/PeopleSoft HR Enterprise Applications, specifically AM&TL.
  • Extensive familiarity with Human Resources best practices and deep understanding of HR business processes is essential.
  • Thorough understanding of relational databases.
  • Basic understanding of the not-for-profit business.

Physical/Sensory Requirements
  • Ability to work with multiple project priorities, operate within deadlines and carry out and satisfy the needs and demands of the HR business stakeholders.
  • Extensive computer oriented experience that may require long hours and/or weekend work to accommodate project deadlines.
